FORMA Conference Virtual Choir

Imagine Church is sponsoring closing worship for the 2021 Online FORMA Conference.  Singers of all ages and ability levels are invited to participate in our virtual choir for the event, even if you will not be attending the conference.  The service will premiere at 5:30 p.m. on January 28.

The virtual choir will be offering two hymns:  "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling," and "Canticle of the Turning."  You may choose to sing either or both. Invite friends!  Interested in adding another instrument?  Email Zack, and let's talk!  znyein@allsaintsatlanta.org

Instructions

1.  You will need to use headphones to listen to the master track videos above.  We strongly suggest using a second device for filming, with the highest resolution possible.  We also recommend a high quality microphone if available.

2.  Listen and watch the master tracks a couple times through to get familiar with the songs (this will save you some takes!) Notice the rhythms, breaths, and text.  These arrangements are probably a little different than others you have heard, so you'll want to pay attention and match as closely as possible.  You are invited to sing in unison by default, but feel free to harmonize and improvise as you may feel led if you are comfortable and confident in doing so.

3. Find a quiet place to record your video - preferably in front of a blank, neutral color wall.  It's fine for multiple family members to sing on the same video.

4. Open your phone or another video recording device and begin recording a video.  Record horizontally, and keep your face in the middle of the screen as best as possible.  A tripod or human can be helpful.

5.  Hit play on the master track video above that you will be listening to with headphones.

6.  Proceed, singing along with the track.  Remember to smile.  Get into it!

7.  When you are finished with your recording(s) navigate to the file sharing service WeTransfer.com on your computer or phone and click “add your files”.  Choose “send to email address” and enter “edavis@episcopalatlanta.org”  Please indicate your name in the message field so that we can list your name in the credits!

Pro Tips for Recording Video

  1. Find a quiet place with little background noise.  If you have an external recording mic, all the better, but not required.
  2. Record horizontal, not vertical video.
  3. Try to keep your face in the middle of the screen.
  4. A tripod or family member may be helpful for camera placement and stability, though not necessary.
  5. Many find it helpful to leave one earbud in your ear and the other out, so you can hear yourself sing!
  6. If it would help you to print out the sheet music, you may do so using the links underneath the master tracks.
